Simply put the band around your wrists and perform pushing motions, progressively increasing the resistance and stability demands for the shoulder. In order to make strength gains, you have to challenge muscles with significant weight. That means lifting weight that is 65-85% of your 1 rep max (maximum amount you can lift) People with pain can’t lift that, so they struggle to make strength improvements necessary to treat the root cause of their pain. Blood flow restriction therapy starves the muscles of oxygen and puts them into an anaerobic state necessary to make strength gains, all while lifting less weight. Other benefits include natural human growth hormone (HGH) release, and endogenous opioid release which helps to decrease inflammation and improve symptoms.
